My "Part" in the community

A bike needs certain pieces to be able to function and run smoothly. Whether its the drive chain, gear shifter, cables or brake, all of these components play a part in making the bike run. A community runs close to the same way. Instead of parts and components, there are people leading and playing certain roles in the group that help the community be successful. If I had to be a part of the bike, I would pick the derailleur. Its a part of the bike that moves the chain from one sprocket to another. In a bike, this component will help the person shift the gears and make it either easier to rider or harder. I chose this because there are many factors that will cause the person to want to use the derailleur. I see this mechanism to be a part that tremendously helps the rider in time of trouble as well as one of the most important parts.  While Relating this piece to a community, this piece is the backup person of the group. Its who you go to if you need something or need and extra boost or idea. I don't see myself as the leader in a group, I don't have those skills or have the experience. Instead i see myself as the derailleur, or a backup person to people of the community. I have gone through many rough things in my life so far, but i have turned those bad things into learning experiences for myself that has just gotten myself stronger. I believe my attitude toward life promotes me to be a backup person or derailluer in the the community. Im there for people who need me, for people who need to shift gears to go uphill  and challenge themselves instead of downhill and back to the past. Im there for people to encourage, to make things easier and give good advise to or a person to talk to. This is just one way we can maximize all of our energy and contribute to the success of the community. Im not the only thing that helps run the community, I'm the backup or derailleur, I'm there for when you need and I'm hanging on for the ride. I can do my job to contribute to the group, my investment is using my knowledge, my listening and encouraging skills to help drive the community, but we all have to work together to help each other. not my component or another will work by itself, we work in a cycle and together, to achieve our goals.

  1. This is great Noah!! I really like how you say that your there when anyone needs some extra help to climb up a steep hill. Thats an awesome metaphor!!! You say your a "back up" in the community, I have to disagree with that. You might now be a leader, but your definitely not a back up, you just play a different role, as you said. Anyway, I really liked reading this! good job! I love you roomy!! :D

  2. Noah, have you helped folks in your community lately. How have you continued to help your community and provide that ongoing support?

I'm not seeing your other posts that were due earlier? Where are those?
